The liberal-democrat activist of 20's first century brought the Kazakhstan national liberation movement to a new level

At the beginning of the year, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, in his program article "Independence is the Most Expensive", began the inauguration of the Alash lions. The name of Alikhan Bokeikhan is one of the national holidays celebrated this year on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Independence.

Alikhan Bukeikhanov is the chairman of the Alash party, the founder of the Alash national liberation movement, which spread over the vast territory of the Kazakh people at the beginning of the 20th century. However, this is just an image of our grandfather Alikhan. In connection with the 155th anniversary of Alikhan Bukeikhanov, we strive to celebrate his heroic deeds in the cause of liberation.

Alikhan Bokeikhan was born on March 5, 1866, in the Karkarinsky district of the Semipalatinsk region, at a time when the tsarist government oppressed the Kazakh land away from the customs and traditions of the people. At the same time, the actions of the tsarist Russian government intensified every year, and its colonial policy was absorbed by the homeland of the Kazakh people. Ancient laws and cultural foundations were cancelled and hindered the development of the Kazakh people as an independent ethnic group.

Over time, Alikhan Bokeikhan also grew and became more and more important for the country: after graduating from Omsk with a technician degree, he entered the Forestry Institute in St. Petersburg with a degree in forestry. Later he passed an emergency exam at the Faculty of Law of St. Petersburg University and received a law degree. He formed his own views on the tsarist government's policy, mastered Marxism, economic principles, tactics, and methods of political struggle.

He took an active part in the political, social and social movements of Omsk, came under the close attention of the tsarist authorities. However, despite all the pressure, in the West Siberian division of “Russia. He was a member of the "Russian Geographical Society", was elected a deputy of the State Duma of the 1st convocation from the Kazakhs of the Semipalatinsk region.

"Жоқ нәрседен пайда болмас,

Бар нәрсе ғайып болмас.

Тамыры терең алты алаш,

Келеді әлі адамзатпен қарбалас..."

Deep knowledge, respect for the history of the nation, the struggle for freedom and rights of the Kazakh people - these are just some aspects of the personality of the leader of the Alash movement, Alikhan Bokeikhan. To achieve strategic goals, an idea was needed that was close to both the national intelligentsia and the common people. Therefore, Alikhan Bokeikhan did not divide the Kazakhs into tribes and zhuz, did not divide them according to their social status and education. He wanted to see Kazakhs as one people. In this regard, the name Alash proposed by him turned out to be an excellent idea for uniting the nation.

"It's hard to say smart, it's even harder to make smart."

A way to revive the idea In the newspaper "Kazakh" in 1913, the meaning of the word "Alash" was explained as "smart, leading" and began to gain the confidence of the underground. Thus, in 1917, the majority of the votes of the people belonged to Alash.

The historical character and role of the national liberation movement "Alash" is a testimony to the people in the conditions of modern independence. The smart guys, impressed by their work, left several ratings. One of them, one of the leaders of Alash, playwright and writer K. Kemengenruli wrote in his historical essay "History of Kazakhstan" in the 1920s: These words mean that the service of the leader of Alash to the people and people is not from knowledge but character.

Obviously, the leader of the Alash movement, Alikhan Bokeikhan, is an exemplary, heroic and patriotic figure who has shown inexhaustible courage in the struggle for the liberation of the Kazakh people, as a great politician and scientist. Why don't we contribute to the prosperity of our independent country, not forgetting about the hard work of the intelligentsia of our country, and ensure that such qualities are instilled in us and future generations?

"We will not go out under the Alash flag until the sun sets ..." said Alikhan Bokeikhan, a well-known public figure who stood at the forefront of the Alash movement. As grandfather Alikhan said, let our lights not go out under the flag of Alash!
