Kunsulu Zakariya - The outstanding Kazakh Women

Kazakhstan since gaining Independence has got many accomplishments and many new names have become known for the world community.

Students of Al-Farabi Kazakh national University has arranged a round table dedicated to the outstanding kazakh women.I would like to share with you the information about  one of the most wellknown kazakh women Kunsulu Zakariya- biologist and scientist- whose achievements in the field of biotechnology and vaccination have attracted world wide attention.

Kunsulu has shown great interest in science and biology since childhood. After graduating from high school, she enrolled in Buketov KarGU, where she received a degree in biological sciences. Kunsulu continued her education for a PhD in microbiology and biotechnology.

Having started her scientific career, Kunsulu Zakaria quickly became a recognized expert in the field of biosafety, biotechnology and microbiology.Her research has attracted the attention of the international scientific community and earned her a reputation as an outstanding scientist. One of the main achievements of Kunsulu Zakari is her work on the development of  the QazVacvaccine against coronavirus. In her role as CEO of the Biosafety Research Institute, she led many research groups that focused on developing a safe and effective vaccine against COVID-19.  QazVac has become a significant achievement in the fight against the COVID-19pandemic and has contributed to the vaccination of the population of Kazakhstan. The vaccine was developed using modern technologies and has passed all the necessary clinic al trials, proving its effectiveness and safety. In recognition of her merits and outstanding scientific achievements, Kunsulu Zakaria was appointed President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This is the highest scientific position, which confirms its importance and influence in the scientific community. As President of the National Academy of Sciences, Kunsulu Zakariaplaysakeyroleinthedevelopmentof scientific research and scientific policy in Kazakhstan.
