Importance of learning foreign languages

Көптілді үйренудің маңызы

Nowadays psychologists research say  that speaking two or more languages is a great asset to the cognitive process. The brains of bilingual people operate differently than single language speakers.

Many of these attributes are only apparent in people who speak multiple languages regularly – if you haven’t spoken a foreign tongue since yourA levels, your brain might not be reaping these bilingual benefits. So I think learning foreign languages from young age has more benefits, especially from 11-12 years old when he or she knows his own language grammar well. For example in Kazakhstan since 2013 year implemented learning English as a foreign languages in firsts  classes in some schools even in pre-school pupils. As for our school-lyceum  №7inZhezkazgan  we teach English from pre-school.  From   foreign languages our pupils learn Russian and English languages .We try to keep and follow «Strategy of 3Languages» .

There are a lot of advantages of learning foreign languages: opportunity of finding good job, you become smarter, workout for brain and so on and so forth.

Knowledge of a foreign language is equally useful for maintaining employment, particularly in industries where companies look to relocate business or expand into other markets. This is because downsized or outsourced employees who speak the language of the country where the company plans to relocate can gain an advantage in the race to be appointed to a post in the new location. Knowledge of the language of the region where your company is expanding into new markets can make you indispensable to the success of the business as you bridge the cultural gap between the two locations.

Speaking a foreign language improves the functionality of your brain by challenging it to recognise, negotiate meaning, and communicate in different language systems. This skill boosts your ability to negotiate meaning in other problem-solving tasks as well.

Recent medical studies bring attention to the positive effects learning a foreign language has on the health of the human brain. Studies by York University of Alzheimer's patients demonstrated that those who were bilingual had a significant delay in the onset of the disease compared to their monolingual counterparts. Other studies concerning the health of monolingual and bilingual patients' brains showed that the effects of dementia were less advanced in bilingual patients even though their brains showed more brain damage as a result of the disease.

So as famous proverb goes He who knows many foreign languages ,he loses nowhere himself. Dear readers study foreign languages!
